Co-Founder of Elevated Insights Assessment, Dr. Kate Colón, was recently nominated and appointed to the Early Career Psychologist At-Large board seat on Colorado Psychological Association’s Board of Directors for the 2019-2022 term. CPA’s mission is to advance the profession of psychology through advocacy and education for the promotion of psychological health and wellbeing. An Early Career Psychologist (ECP) is a psychologist who has received their doctoral degree within the last seven years. Oftentimes, the transition from student to professional can be daunting as ECP’s are tasked with managing debt from grad school, making new connections via networking, learning about private practice and/or other consulting roles, etc. In her new role in CPA’s ECP, Dr. Colón will join other committee members and advocate for other ECP’s by providing opportunities for training and education, building social connections and professional networks, strengthening and encouraging bidirectional mentoring, and assisting in the recruitment, retention and involvement in CPA.
